As the global COVID-19 public health emergency continues to spread and create challenges for families and businesses across the country, we wanted to share with you how Floyd Hunter is addressing many of the same challenges that our clients may be facing. The attorneys and staff at Floyd Hunter remain committed to aggressively representing you in order to achieve a timely resolution of your claim. We are putting into place contingency plans that will allow Floyd Hunter to continue to operate even in the face of potential staffing shortages due to the impact of COVID-19. There will certainly be challenges ahead for all of us and there may be days where your assigned claim manager or attorney are out of the office. Rest assured that we have put into place a plan to continue to keep your claim moving forward. Additionally, please keep in mind that you can always communicate with us via telephone or email if you do not feel comfortable leaving home.

The Alabama Supreme Court has ordered the suspension of all judicial proceedings effectively closing the courthouses across our state. The initial suspension is for a period of thirty days ending on April 16. For clients that have trials set in the next thirty days those are continued and will have to be rescheduled. It remains to be seen what effect, if any, the suspension of judicial proceedings will have on trials set after April 16. For the vast majority of our clients this will most likely not affect your claim or cause a delay in the handling of your lawsuit. For those clients with pending lawsuits we will keep you advised of any new developments as soon as we have information for you.

We remain ready, able, and prepared to serve our clients during this time. Thank you for your understanding and please be safe during this time.
