Happy Thanksgiving from Floyd Hunter!
Thanksgiving is a time for us to reflect on the year and give thanks for all that we have. Families and friends gather to share a meal and drink, enjoying quality time together.
While the Thanksgiving holiday is a time to relax and reflect, it is also one of the busiest travel periods of the year. People will be traveling by train, plane and car to get to their destination with an estimated 51 million Americans traveling throughout the week leading up to Thanksgiving Day.
The influx of traffic will mean more congestion on the roads and people throughout Alabama will be anxious to arrive to their destinations on time. Regardless of what type of transportation you will be utilizing, keep in mind that it is a heavily traveled time of year. Remain calm, be patient and expect delays to occur.
Keep these safety tips in mind this Thanksgiving:
- Leave Early – to prevent rushing and to potentially prevent an accident from occurring, allow yourself enough time to get to your destination by leaving early.
- Drive Defensively – there will be thousands of drivers on the road this holiday season! It is important to always be alert and to drive defensively. Maintain a safe following distance to allow yourself enough to come to a complete stop.
- Never Drive Distracted – never use your cell phone while driving. Keep your phone stowed away at all times when driving to prevent you from using it.
- Never Drink & Drive – plan ahead this holiday season! If you plan on drinking designate a sober driver, utilize the multiple car services available or use public transportation to get around.
From all of us at Floyd Hunter, we would like to wish you a happy and safe Thanksgiving!
